  • Beverage Company Taps IntelliChief for Forms Software

    January 10, 2012 Alex Woodie

American Beverage Corporation has licensed the Formtastic forms management solution from IntelliChief to automate previously manual processes in conjunction with a new installation of Infor‘s ERP LX software. The beverage company may license the IntelliChief paperless process management software this year.

American Beverage Corporation (ABC) is a multi-million dollar manufacturer and marketer of kids’ fruit drinks, ready-to-drink cocktails, and non-alcoholic cocktail mixers. The company is based near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is owned by the publicly traded Dutch food company Royal Wessanen.

As part of ABC’s recent upgrade to Infor ERP LX, the company looked for other ways to enhance its business processes, according to IntelliChief. The largely manual processes used to create and distribute documents from the ERP system was one of the primary areas slated for improvement.

ABC selected the Infor Formtastic solution after participating in a demonstration of the product, IntelliChief says. Infor Formtastic is a special version of the IBM i-based forms management software that includes the connectors required for integrating with the ERP LX application. In addition to out-of-the-box integration with ERP LX, ABC benefits from automated email distribution of forms and the capability to create custom forms with the Formtastic forms design tool.

IntelliChief says ABC has budgeted for and is planning to purchase and implement the complete IntelliChief paperless process management solution in 2012. IntelliChief (the product) runs on Windows and is commonly implemented in IBM i environments to streamline various internal business processes, workflows, and approval mechanisms that often rely on paper.

If you’re wondering why IntelliChief is selling Formtastic, when Formtastic is owned by Quadrant Software, then you’re not alone. As it turns out, when IntelliChief separated from Quadrant in late 2010, IntelliChief was allowed to retain the reseller deal with Infor for Quadrant’s forms and fax products, including Formtastic and FastFax.

The reseller deal between Infor and Quadrant was originally signed in late 2009.
