  • VAI Announces S2K Enterprise Release 5.0.4, Signs New Reseller

    April 10, 2012 Alex Woodie

VAI last month announced a new release of S2K, its line of IBM i-based ERP software. S2K Enterprise Release 5.0.4 brings dozens of enhancements and fixes across all functional areas of the package, including order entry, purchasing, warehouse management, and CRM. The New York company has also signed the Complete IT Store as its latest reseller.

S2K Enterprise Release 5.0.4 (or PTF04 for Release 5.0) is the fourth minor release since VAI shipped the monumental S2K version 5.0 back in 2008. With a brand new GUI, a new portal framework, and support for smart phones, version 5 marked a major transition for S2K users.

The current release doesn’t pack the punch of the introduction of version 5, but it does bring a whole host of improvements across nearly every S2K module, including: Accounts Payable; Accounts Receivable; General Ledger; CRM; Customer Orders; Inventory; Warehouse Management; Purchasing; Point of Sale; Sales Analysis; and Service Billing.

S2K Enterprise Release 5.0.4 isn’t available now, however. A company spokesperson says, while much of the coding for the release is done, the update isn’t slated to ship until this fall, with general availability likely to be officially announced during the company’s annual user conference in October.

VAI also announced that it has signed Mason, New Hampshire-based Complete IT Store to sell its software in the Northeast. “We have always been impressed with VAI’s loyal customer base, and with its strong influence in the Northeast, it was an easy choice to partner with them to expand our services in the region,” the reseller’s CEO Joshua Garfinkle says in a press release.

This article was corrected. S2K version 5.0.4 is not available now, as the story previously stated. The software is not expected to ship until October. IT Jungle regrets the error.
