  • Fax Incentive Program Offered By Quadrant Software

    April 30, 2012 Dan Burger

Backing up its launch of fax over IP (FoIP) software earlier this month, Quadrant Software has introduced a Quadrant FastFax customer trade-up program that provides a path for companies to migrate from its existing hardware/software combination to QuadraDocV virtual FoIP software. Companies that are staying with the traditional fax hardware setup will find a trade-in discount program as well.

The benefit of moving from hardware-based fax is the elimination of hardware management and maintenance and the canceling of subscriptions for analog phone lines. FoIP software runs within a VMware virtual machine. It provides the same fax capabilities as Quadrant’s hardware-based products.

FoIP transitions also include scalability benefits from one to hundreds of fax ports, improved disaster recovery capabilities, simplified and more effective management of virtual machines compared to managing hardware, and the integration with a voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure as part of a unified communications program.

“There are many inherent benefits to moving to a virtual infrastructure,” said Quadrant Software’s CEO Steve Woodard, in a prepared statement. “With the release of QuadraDocV, we’ve enabled our customers to reduce their carbon footprint even further by removing yet another ‘box’ from their datacenter. The customer trade-up program is our way of encouraging our customers to take advantage of the many benefits of virtualization, including cost and power savings and better server utilization. In return, the environment benefits both from decreased consumption and our commitment to a greener planet.”

The trade-up program is a $2,000 credit for customers ready to move to fax over IP and upgrade to QuadraDocV.

For customers holding the course with a traditional fax hardware setup, Quadrant’s incentive plan is to double the trade-in value of their old hardware. For instance, if the customer has an existing box worth $300, Quadrant will double that amount for a $600 discount on new replacement hardware.

In either case, returned hard drives will be recycled as appropriate. And to further its environmental dedication, Quadrant has a tree-planting program that equates to one tree for each sale.

Quadrant has been creating enterprise document output management (DOM) software for the IBM midrange platform (AS/400, iSeries, System i, and IBM i) since 1990. In December 2010, the company was sold to Candescent Partners. Its document processing applications FastFax and Formtastic, run natively on the IBM i platform and its predecessors.

Customer outreach programs have indicated a very high degree of customer satisfaction. In early 2011, Woodard reported satisfaction rates of 99 percent and 100 percent based on two Quadrant initiatives.
