  • GSI Buys JD Edwards Consulting Business from Andrews Group

    August 13, 2013 Alex Woodie

ERP implementation specialist GSI last week announced the acquisition of the JD Edwards consulting business from Andrews Group. The resulting organization has experts with a collective 750 years of JD Edwards experience, GSI says.

GSI, which was founded in 2004 in the suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia, already had a considerable amount of JD Edwards consulting experience before buying Andrews Consulting, the JD Edwards consulting arm of Cheshire, Connecticut-based Andrews Group, which today is doing business under the name RapidDecision.

In fact, in the small world of JD Edwards consulting, the two companies had done quite bit of business with each other over the years, says Kevin Herrig, president and CEO of GSI. The familiarity and respect that GSI had for Dave Andrews and his team was part of the reason for doing the deal, he says.

“We’ve worked very closely with the Andrews Consulting team for nearly a decade,” Herrig says in a press release. “It made complete sense to strengthen our organization by taking this big step in order to provide our clients with the most comprehensive mix of business, technical, and custom software solutions in the JD Edwards market.”

As part of the deal, Andrews transferred ownership of RapidReconciler, a software product designed to automate the process of reconciling inventory to the general ledger in JD Edwards ERP environments. More than 200 JDE shops in 17 countries use RapidReconciler, according to www.rapidreconciler.com.

The Andrews business will now be focused on selling and supporting RapidDecision, a business intelligence and data warehousing tool designed to be used with data from all types of ERP systems, including JDE World, JDE EnterpriseOne, Infor BPCS, Infor Lawson, and Oracle‘s PeopleSoft and E-Business Suite.

“Transferring our traditional JDE services, custom software developers, and RapidReconciler to GSI allows us to turn all of our attention to the fast growing RapidDecision software business,” Dave Andrews, founder of Andrews Consulting and CEO of RapidDecision, says in the press announcement.

    JAMS Software

One Scheduler. IBM i, Windows, Linux, and More.

IBM i teams trust JAMS to schedule and orchestrate jobs across every platform in their environment. Centralized visibility, cross-platform dependency management, and alerts that reach the right person before the business feels it.

Fewer than 5% of IBM i shops run IBM i only. The rest are managing cross-platform dependencies — often without a clear picture of how they connect. JAMS draws that map, enforces those dependencies automatically, and gives your team a single place to monitor, manage, and recover when something goes wrong.

If you are running hundreds of CL scripts and custom RPG processes, bring them as-is. JAMS runs them exactly as they do today — except now they are visible, monitored, and part of an orchestrated workflow instead of scattered across folders only one person knows about.

No consumption-based pricing. No surprise bills when your workload spikes. You pay based on how many machines JAMS talks to — that’s it.
