IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 19, Number 40
October 11, 2017 Doug Bidwell
Some weeks there is a lot of PTF action, and there is a lot to say about it, and some weeks there ain’t quite so much but you need to pay attention anyway. That’s why we encourage you to create your own special PTF Patch Wednesday, which means taking a look at the IBM i PTF Guide each morning when it comes out in The Four Hundred and figuring out how to get your system current.
Getting it current and keeping it current is the best way to keep your IBM i system safe and tuned up. The further you drift, the harder it will be to get back to the current.
In this week’s guide, you will see that an additional CVE was fixed with PTFs to the HTTP Server, thus: Vulnerability CVE-2017-9798 in the IBM i HTTP Server affects IBM i.
The IBM i PTF numbers are:
- V7R3M0 – SI65906
- V7R2M0 – SI65915
- V7R1M0 – SI65939
Also, QMGTOOLS for V7R3M0 and V7R2M0 has added tooling for Temporary Storage growth in *DATABASE buckets 8, 9, 11, and 15
And, of course, there are HIPERs for this week in all releases:
- V7R3M0 – SF99729 – SI65926
- V7R2M0 – SF99719 – SI65925
- V7R1M0 – SF99709 – SI65747
If you’re not current on the HIPER group for your release, we recommend putting on the entire group
As always, to help you work through the PTFs in chronological order, we have included an archive of the IBM i PTF Guide, which you can see below:
