IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 21, Number 7
February 18, 2019 Doug Bidwell
As you will see in the most recent IBM i PTF Guide, there was not a lot going on this week. It looks like somebody at IBM might be taking some time off. That’s the way it goes some weeks, and we call it a win if there is not a lot of patching that is going on. That said, there are probably a bunch of you that might be a little bit behind in applying PTFs – this kind of thing happens. And if you ever get truly behind and need some help sorting it all out, don’t be afraid to reach out to us and ask for help. DLB Associates is an expert at this, as well as a reseller serving customers in Southern California and other regions.
With all this time on my hands – yes, you can stop laughing now, that joke wasn’t that funny – I have nonetheless put some new links this in the Guide this week. (No one has any free time these days, as far as I can tell.) Here are the new links:
- SSL/TLS: How To Disable SSL/TLS for the ADMIN HTTP Server and ADMIN2 Application Server
- WAS: How To Change WAS v8.5.x Product and Profiles To Use JDK 8.0 on IBM i OS
And here is the weekly helpful administrator tip: Take a look at CPYTOARCF and CPYFRMARCF. Zip for IBM i has arrived in command format! (Available on IBM i 7.2 and IBM i 7.3)
The Guide at a glance: There are no new defectives this week (2/16/19), and we are still going for a new record! Here is the defective PTF rundown, which is the last defective for each release:
