  • IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 28, Number 4

    January 26, 2026 Doug Bidwell

Big Blue is changing its IP addresses for important stuff once again, and that makes this change a High Impact/Pervasive or HIPER issue for IBM i shops. So, customers have to prepare firewalls and proxies for the upcoming infrastructure changes on IBM Fix Central system, which you can read about more at this link. Public internet IP address are changing for the IBM servers that support internet delivery of fixes and updates for customer system’s software, hardware, and operating system. Hostnames are not changing. IBM will complete the implementation of the infrastructure improvements to electronic fix distribution by March 20, 2026.

Another HIPER issue is the latest service packs 1060.52 and 1060.60 are now available for system firmware levels, ML1060, MM1060, and MH1060. The following Security/HIPER fixes are included in these service packs:

    • A security problem was fixed for CVE-2025-36238
    • A security problem was fixed for CVE-2025-52497 and CVE-2025-49087
    • A security problem was fixed for CVE-2025-36194
    • A security problem was fixed for CVE-2025-38556

These are for the following products:

    • Power E1050 (9043-MRX)
    • Power L1022 (9786-22H)
    • Power L1024 (9786-42H)
    • Power S1014 (9105-41B)
    • Power S1022 (9105-22A)
    • Power S1022s (9105-22B)
    • Power System E1080 Server (9080-HEX)
    • Power System S1012 (9028-21B)

There is also this flash notice: IBM i Java Development Kit 8 64 & 32 bit VMs Fail with “Could not generate ECDHEMLKEM keypair” After IBM i Java Group PTF Apply, with more information available here. After applying the following IBM i Java Group PTF levels, IBM Java Development Kit (JDK) 8 64‑bit and 32‑bit VMs upgraded to SR8 FP55 may begin to fail with the error: java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not generate ECDHEMLKEM keypair. Other IBM JDK versions (11, 17, 21) on IBM i are not affected – only Java 8 (64‑bit and 32‑bit) VMs. This issue can also affect the IBM i Administration (ADMIN) server, Integrated Web Services (IWS), Integrated Web Application Server (IAS), WebSphere Application Server (Traditional and Liberty), Tomcat, and Web Query instances running on Java 8 SR8 FP55.
