  • ISC Taps LANSA for App Modernization

    August 19, 2008 Alex Woodie

Investment Systems Company (ISC) will modernize its i OS-based suite of portfolio management applications using LANSA‘s RAMP (Rapid Application Modernization Process) solution set, the companies announced yesterday.

ISC is a Moreland Hills, Ohio, software company that has been providing the investment community with i OS-based portfolio management applications since it was founded in 1984. The company offers three main products–including Portfolio Accounting System, Shareholder Accounting System, and Bonds Payable System–to a range of organizations, including banks, mutual fund companies, professional investment houses, asset managers, and housing authorities.

To remain competitive, ISC needed to revamp the interfaces of its offerings. Ronni Bialosky, president of ISC, explains why he thinks LANSA offered the best solution for his company.

“Using LANSA’s high-level language and common interface to accomplish these objectives means that we’ll be able to rapidly provide these new functionalities to our customers,” she says. “This is an exciting time because I can see what the power of LANSA is.”

LANSA announced RAMP in March 2006 to provide System i shops with a staged approach that allows them to reface their legacy RPG and COBOL applications while simultaneously preparing them for future redevelopment in LANSA’s cross-platform repository-based 4GL IDE. The offering is designed to solve both the near-term problem of getting GUIs out now, while giving users time to think about how best to modernize in the long-term.
