  • Raz-Lee Makes Moves in UK and Latin America

    September 9, 2014 Alex Woodie

IBM i security software developer Raz-Lee Security bolstered its international presence this month with the appointment of a UK-based reseller and the hiring of a sales manager for Latin America.

Raz-Lee’s partnership with Proxmity will enhance the software company’s presence in the UK and Ireland–and possibly Scotland, if that country gains its independence.

Based in the central English cities of Nottingham and Leeds, Proximity specializes in providing IBM i technical services. The company is also a reseller for BCD Software (now part of Quadrant Software) and is the only accredited partner in the UK for Infor ERP LX and BPCS.

“We are delighted to be part of Raz-Lee’s partner program,” stated Proximity’s director, Dave Pickburn. “Their suite of IBM i security products are industry-leading and the partnership further strengthens our core business offering around development, modernization, and mobilization of IBM i applications.”

Meanwhile, back in Raz-Lee’s headquarters near New York City, the company appointed Manuel Alonso as its new director for sales in Latin America. Over the past 15 years, Alonso has represented several security software vendors in Central and South America, including IBM i security specialist Pentasafe (now NetIQ, owned by Attachmate and SIEM provider LogRhythm.

Alonso, who has a degree in computer science from Florida International University, will focus his efforts on the biggest IBM i markets in the region, including those in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and Venezuela, the company says. He’ll also serve Raz-Lee’s existing clients in those countries and Honduras, Nicaragua, and Peru, Raz-Lee says.

“Raz-Lee Security is continuing with its aggressive growth plans for the upcoming years,” the company’s VP of biz dev, Eli Spitz, says in a press release. “Latin America is one of the hottest emerging markets and as such I look forward to working closely with Manuel.”

Raz-Lee, which maintains its R&D office in Israel, offers no fewer than 15 different security products for IBM i, ranging from exit point control and database activity monitoring (DAM) to virus scanning and password enforcement.

Get More Out of Your IBM i

With soaring costs, operational data is more critical than ever. IBM shops need faster, easier ways to distribute IBM applications-based data to users more efficiently, no matter where they are.

    The Problem:

For Users, IBM Data Can Be Difficult to Get To

IBM Applications generate reports as spooled files, originally designed to be printed. Often those reports are packed together with so much data it makes them difficult to read. Add to that hardcopy is a pain to distribute. User-friendly formats like Excel and PDF are better, offering sorting, searching, and easy portability but getting IBM reports into these formats can be tricky without the right tools.

    The Solution:

IBM i Reports can easily be converted to easy to read and share formats like Excel and PDF and Delivered by Email

Converting IBM i, iSeries, and AS400 reports into Excel and PDF is now a lot easier with SpoolFlex software by DRV Tech.  If you or your users are still doing this manually, think how much time is wasted dragging and reformatting to make a report readable. How much time would be saved if they were automatically formatted correctly and delivered to one or multiple recipients.

SpoolFlex converts spooled files to Excel and PDF, automatically emailing them, and saving copies to network shared folders. SpoolFlex converts complex reports to Excel, removing unwanted headers, splitting large reports out for individual recipients, and delivering to users whether they are at the office or working from home.

Watch our 2-minute video and see DRV’s powerful SpoolFlex software can solve your file conversion challenges.
