  • Trubiquity Updates Data Exchange Product for OFTP2

    Trubiquity last week unveiled a new version of TRUeurex-c, its managed file exchange offering for exchanging EDI and other forms of business communication. With TRUeurex-c 3.0, the company has added support for OFTP2, a version of the FTP protocol that is being adopted in Europe.

    Trubiquity was founded in 2008 following a series of acquisitions orchestrated by Autoweb (the organization’s previous name), including Datranet, Trinary Systems, Secorex Group, and parts of Mosaic Software. Trubiquity is headquartered in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and has four offices in the UK and Germany.

  • PTSS First to Achieve NIST Compliance for DB2/400 Encryption

    Patrick Townsend Security Solutions demonstrated why it calls itself “the encryption company” last week when it because the first and only vendor to receive certification from the National Institute of Standards and Technology for a DB2/400 encryption solution. The NIST certification, combined with its support and deep technical understanding of the new automated encryption facilities that IBM introduced with i/OS 7.1 gives the company a solid leadership position in the i/OS security business.

  • m-Power Gets Better Record Filtering, Other Goodies

    Developers at mrc have been hard at work the last few months, and the results show with several new capabilities added to the company’s flagship m-Power development tool, which is used to generate Web applications for i/OS and other platforms.   • Unitrends to Add Deduplication to D2D Backup Appliances

    An upcoming release of Unitrends disk-to-disk (D2D) backup appliances will feature new data deduplication technologies that should allow customers to cram more data into each device. Unitrends, which offers support for i/OS with backup appliances, says the “adaptive” deduplication technology in its upcoming Release 5 eliminates much of the overhead and management that other vendors’ deduplication schemes require.

  • Zend Studio Gets New Code Tracing Capabilities

    Zend Technologies last week unveiled a new release of its Zend Studio development environment. New code tracing capabilities added in Zend Studio 7.2 work in tandem with Zend Server (which was recently made available on the i/OS platform) to make it easier for developers to find and fix performance problems in PHP applications.

    Prior to version 7.2, addressing performance problems from Zend Studio could be a hit and miss affair. It was often a tedious task to reproduce the production environment to recreate problems found in PHP applications.
