If my crystal ball had told me just how many RDi V9.6 fix packs there would be and, more importantly, how many great new features would be added, I might have thought differently about starting a numbered series! Looks like I may well make it into double digits. But I’m not complaining. Guru Classic: My Favorite Keyboard Shortcuts for RSE/RDi

When using RDi for editing my CL, DDS, RPG, or COBOL code, I find that I can save a lot of time by using keyboard shortcuts for functions that would otherwise require that I take my hands off the keyboard to use the mouse. So I thought I would share a few of my favorites. Many of the shortcuts I use are standard for other applications that I also use for email, spreadsheets or text editing. When it comes to IBM i programming tools from IBM, Rational Developer for IBM i (RDi) is the integrated development environment at the top of many professionals’ wish lists. Author’s Note: The original version of this tip first appeared in March 2007. That was three renames ago for the toolset we now know as RDi. (It was WDSC then). Although RDi has seen many significant enhancements in the intervening years, not much about starting a debug session has changed.
