Dun & Bradstreet Picks Raz-Lee to Secure i Servers

Published: June 3, 2008

by Alex Woodie

Dun & Bradstreet Singapore has picked Raz-Lee Security to provide security software for its i OS environment, the software vendor announced last week. The Singapore arm of the financial services giant is implementing Raz-Lee's iSecurity Prevention and Compliance packs to help it secure and audit its IT systems.

As one of the premiere providers of credit, bureau, marketing, purchasing, and receivables management services in the country of Singapore, Dun & Bradstreet's IT systems provides a lucrative target for would-be criminals. To prevent hackers or inside users from gaining access to its critical data, the firm required comprehensive security solutions aimed at preventing access.

Before bringing in Raz-Lee, Dun & Bradstreet used another security suite for i OS (formerly i5/OS). However, the company found the package to be "restrictive and ineffective," according to Raz-Lee. As a result, Dun & Bradstreet conducted an in-depth search for a replacement, and settled on iSecurity from Raz-Lee.

Following the installation of iSecurity, the company discovered a number of hacking attempts on its System i servers, according to Raz-Lee. iSecurity protected the firm from these attempts, thereby maintaining the integrity of Dun & Bradstreet's systems.

According to Tim Birch, general manager of IT at Dun & Bradstreet Singapore, the software works as advertised. "iSecurity provides complete functionality and lets you get the full picture," he said. "The system was easily implemented, and since it was straightforward and intuitive, people picked it up quickly."
