  • Bottomline Hooks Into J.D. Edwards Via Oracle Fusion Middleware

    February 6, 2007 Alex Woodie

J.D. Edwards shops looking for a document management software provider may want to check out Bottomline Technologies, whose document management software products were recently certified to work with Oracle‘s J.D. Edwards ERP software, as well as the E-Business Suite, via Oracle’s Fusion Middleware.

Bottomline Technologies sells document and payment management solutions that work with a number of legacy ERP systems. The New Hampshire company developed a special affinity for the J.D. Edwards product line largely through the acquisitions of two companies Create!form International (in 2003) and FormScape (last October) that developed electronic output management solutions commonly used in J.D. Edwards environments.

Now, Bottomline is working through the Oracle PartnerNetwork to hook into the software giant’s ERP lines through Fusion, Oracle’s strategic middleware platform, and, specifically, through Oracle’s BPEL Process Manager. By gaining a certification for its document management offerings on Fusion, customers can be confident that the Web services-based integration has been tested and proved to work.

Gareth Priest, Bottomline’s vice president of global product management, is keen on the possibilities unfolding through Fusion. “Oracle Fusion Middleware integration is a key initiative for Bottomline across all of its document, payments, and invoice automation solutions,” he says. ” Support for Oracle Fusion middleware protects our customer’s investments and enables them to enjoy lower total cost of ownership and increased agility as they transition to Oracle’s service oriented architecture.”
