  • Tango/04 Taps Moores Rowland Consulting for Distribution in India

February 26, 2007 Timothy Prickett Morgan

Tango/04 Computing Group, the Barcelona, Spain, provider of systems management, monitoring, and security software for the OS/400 and i5/OS platform, said last week that it has inked a deal to begin distributing its products in India.

The deal was done with Mumbai-based Moores Rowland Consulting, which is a unit of a conglomerate called the Haribhakti Group, an accounting firm that was founded in 1951 and which has expanded into a large, multifaceted accounting and consulting firm that spans the gamut of business and technology services. The Moores Rowland Consulting unit provides information technology consulting and information systems risk assessment services to businesses and government facilities throughout India, including state and union ministries, government offices and regulators, financial institutions, and business houses (which is Indian for family-controlled conglomerates).

Expansion in India is one way that Tango/04 hopes to continue to grow. As we previously reported, Tango/04 said last fall that the first half of 2006 was the best first six months that it has had in its 15-year history, with sales up 42 percent. Tango/04 has sales operations in Spain, France, Italy, and North America, and has partnerships in Asia, Australia, Latin America, and other European countries.

“India is one of the biggest IT markets in the world and is expanding very rapidly,” said Jenko Gaviglia, international sales director at Tango/04 in announcing the agreement with Moores Rowland Consulting. “Indian companies need reliable and simple-to-deploy solutions to monitor their business processes and to comply with international best practices and security regulations.” It doesn’t hurt that Moores Rowland Consulting is one of the largest IT consultancies in Asia, either.

Moores Rowland Consulting will sell the complete line of Tango/04 software, including VISUAL Security Suite, VISUAL Message Center, and Data Monitor. Tango/04 is providing the consultants at Moores Rowland with the training they need to sell and install the software. Financial details of the agreement were not made public.
