  • Global Hires Beer, Rolls Out New Web Site

    April 18, 2007 Alex Woodie

Global Software, a developer of an Excel-based reporting tool for ERP systems, is aiming to change how it interacts with its customers and its partners. Last week the company announced the launch of a new Web site, www.myspreadsheetserver.com, and the hiring of a new manager of strategic accounts, Bjorn Beer.

Spencer Kupferman, vice president of corporate affairs for Global Software, says the company launched www.myspreadsheetserver.com to give more attention to Spreadsheet Server, which is Global’s most popular product. “We felt our flagship Spreadsheet Server product was worthy of its own website based on the demand for the product worldwide and recommendations from customers and partners alike,” he stated in a press release.

Global says the new Web site was launched to provide a place for more Spreadsheet Server content, including a blog for Global and its Spreadsheet Server customers, registration for Webcasts, and marketing collateral, like press releases and case studies.

Meanwhile, the Raleigh, North Carolina, company hired Beer to oversee Global’s strategic partnerships around the world. Global says Beer’s previous positions as director of financial markets for fellow Raleigh software house Sageworks prepared him for his new job. Beer graduated from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, the company reports.

“Bjorn is a nationally recognized talent in the discipline of channel partner strategy,” Kupferman says. “He is a leader that is very well credentialed and we are confident he will continue to expand upon the traditions of success we have created in our worldwide channel partner program.”

This article has been corrected. Global’s new Web site was incorrectly listed as spreadsheetserver.com. The correct address is www.myspreadsheetserver.com. IT Jungle regrets the error.
