  • Vision Solutions Extends Service Certification, Joins ISV Advantage Initiative

    May 14, 2007 Dan Burger

Buyers of enterprise software make some difficult choices based on product comparisons. A lot is riding on the product purchased today and the future development of that product. The same can be said about the service side of a purchasing decision. Product assurances generally are easier to test and verify than promises of service.

As you may or may not know, technology companies can obtain certification for the service they provide. It requires auditing and it quantifies the effectiveness of customer service and support based on performance standards and industry best practices.

For the third consecutive year, Vision Solutions has achieved certification under the Service Capability & Performance (SCP) Support Standards program. Vision is one of the leading high availability (HA) solution providers in the IBM System i market, of course.

SCP Certification is part of a suite of service capability and performance standards designed to improve the quality and effectiveness of technology service operations. A consortium of leading technology companies, along with the Association for Services Management International and Service Strategies Corporation created the internationally recognized standards, which define best practices for service and support, quantify performance levels, and establish a foundation to build on existing quality processes. Certification requires comprehensive audits and annual recertification to confirm that companies continue to meet the requirements of the program.

Other technology companies with SCP Certification include: EMC, Lockheed Martin, GE Healthcare, McKesson Corporation, Rockwell Automation, Nokia, and Sage Software. More than 200 technology support organizations around the world participate in the SCP program.

Vision also said last week that it has been approved as a member of IBM’s ISV Advantage Initiative, a program designed to help meet the specific information technology needs of small and mid size businesses.

“Market requirements for business continuity and compliance are increasingly driving small and medium companies to implement affordable, reliable and easy to use high availability (HA) solutions. This new partnership between IBM and Vision Solutions will help these customers do exactly that by enhancing our mutual technical and marketing relationships,” says Mads Toubro, vice president of business development at Vision Solutions.

Vision Solutions’ products that are included in this program include iTera HA and ORION HA, which provide System i mirroring and failover capabilities; iTera Vault disaster recovery; Upgrade/Migrate While Active system migration; and the iTera Director set of system management tools.
