  • Continued Enhancement of Post Modern Applications? BluePhoenix Has You Covered

    October 23, 2007 Alex Woodie

So you’ve heeded the call to modernize your legacy RPG or COBOL application, and are reveling in the business process improvements. So now what? If you’re looking to continue enhancing the application even more, but don’t have the resources to do it in-house, you may want to check into BluePhoenix Solutions, which last week announced a post modernization application development service offering, utilizing developers based in Russia.

BluePhoenix has lots of experience in mainframe application modernization and outsourcing services, and thanks to its acquisition of midrange application modernization software vendor ASNA earlier this year, the company is now building an expertise in the System i world, too.

With last week’s announcement, the Israeli company is now looking to build a development practice for midrange and mainframe shops that have already taken the first steps to modernizing their applications. BluePhoenix’s team of developers in St. Petersburg, Russia, provide a range of high-value skills, including application development, modernization, transformation, consulting, and software testing services. They are experts in C#, C/C++, Visual Basic, Java, Cobol, PL/I, Ada, Assembler, Natural, Perl, AJAX, XML, HTML, and PHP, BluePhoenix says.

According to BluePhoenix, you can’t go wrong hiring a Russian programmer. The company sites a Gartner report that found “Russia’s elite universities have extremely high standards in math and science” and that “consequently, the labor pool is of high quality and is scalable.”
