  • Maintenance Expert ServIT Partners with Data Center Provider

    November 24, 2008 Dan Burger

ServIT, a System i solution provider specializing in consulting, maintenance, and wholesale distribution, completed a partnership deal last week with Peak 10, a data center operator and managed services provider with a pocketful of high-profile clients across the United States.

Peak 10 is particularly adept at managing regulatory compliance solutions for SAS70 Type II, HIPAA, FDA, PCI, and Gramm-Leach-Bliley (GLBA) requirements, according to the company. Tony Merendino, president of ServIT, described Peak 10 as “a valuable partner as well as a trusted IT advisor to the local business community.”

In addition to the above-mentioned expertise, ServIT has more than 10 years experience with hardware and software sales, network stabilizing, project outsourcing, and system upgrades. The company is an IBM System i premier partner, and also has partnerships with System i ISVs such as New Generation Software, RJS Software, VAI, and Vision Solutions, as well as companies like Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Cisco Systems, and 3Com.

According to information on its Website, ServIT belongs to a 2,000-member consortium that provides high availability for parts needed for maintenance work, and ServIT field technicians average more than 100 preventative maintenance visits per month.

Peak 10 owns and operates data centers in nine markets including Cincinnati, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; Raleigh and Charlotte, North Carolina; Tampa and Jacksonville, Florida; Nashville, Tennessee; Louisville, Kentucky; and Richmond, Virginia.

Earlier this month, Peak 10 officials announced expansion plans at its Raleigh data center.

In September, the company also announced a partnership with Emergent Game Technologies, a source for game development tools used in building, testing, managing and expanding interactive games. Using VMware virtualization technology for X64 servers, Peak 10 expects to provide Emergent with a dedicated virtual server and managed firewall.
