  • Retalix Taps S4i Systems for i OS Electronic Document Management

    September 29, 2009 Alex Woodie

Retailers that run Retalix‘s i OS-based ERP system will find it easier to transition to paperless forms as the result of a new partnership Retalix has formed with S4i Systems. As part of the deal, Retalix customers will be able to take advantage of well-documented integration between S4i Systems’ i OS document management software and Retalix’s i OS-based suite of enterprise software, Power Enterprise.

Based in Plano, Texas, and Ra’anana, Israel, Retalix develops ERP, CRM, and SCM software used by companies in the retail and distribution industries. Its primary market is serving supermarkets, convenience stores, and foodservice distribution companies. The vendor, which brought in $221 million in revenue each of the last two years, says that more than half of the 50 biggest food retail and distribution companies are its customers.

The deal with Southern California’s S4i Systems will make it easier for Power Enterprise customers to implement S4i’s document distribution, archiving, and retrieval functionality, says Spencer Elliott, president and chief executive officer for S4i Systems.

“We have been working with and listening to Retalix customers for a few years now,” Elliott says in a press release. “Formalizing our relationship with Retalix provides greater synergy between the two organizations, allowing us to meet their customers’ needs …”

S4i already has at least two Retalix customers that have also implemented its document management offerings, including Tankersley Food Service of Arkansas and Stanz Foodservice of Indiana. Both of these companies are profiled in case studies on the S4i Web site.

Retalix also has relationships with several other i OS document management software vendors, including FormsPrint developer Integrated Custom Software and Quadrant Software, both of which are sponsors at Retalix’s annual user conference, called Synergy, scheduled for November. S4i Systems will also be at the event.

Get More Out of Your IBM i

With soaring costs, operational data is more critical than ever. IBM shops need faster, easier ways to distribute IBM applications-based data to users more efficiently, no matter where they are.

    The Problem:

For Users, IBM Data Can Be Difficult to Get To

IBM Applications generate reports as spooled files, originally designed to be printed. Often those reports are packed together with so much data it makes them difficult to read. Add to that hardcopy is a pain to distribute. User-friendly formats like Excel and PDF are better, offering sorting, searching, and easy portability but getting IBM reports into these formats can be tricky without the right tools.

    The Solution:

IBM i Reports can easily be converted to easy to read and share formats like Excel and PDF and Delivered by Email

Converting IBM i, iSeries, and AS400 reports into Excel and PDF is now a lot easier with SpoolFlex software by DRV Tech.  If you or your users are still doing this manually, think how much time is wasted dragging and reformatting to make a report readable. How much time would be saved if they were automatically formatted correctly and delivered to one or multiple recipients.

SpoolFlex converts spooled files to Excel and PDF, automatically emailing them, and saving copies to network shared folders. SpoolFlex converts complex reports to Excel, removing unwanted headers, splitting large reports out for individual recipients, and delivering to users whether they are at the office or working from home.

Watch our 2-minute video and see DRV’s powerful SpoolFlex software can solve your file conversion challenges.
