  • Krengel Launches Card Authorization Software for IBM i

    May 24, 2011 Alex Woodie

KrengelTech recently launched Krengel Authorize, an IBM i-based credit card authorization product designed to allow customers to process credit card and other electronic payments directly from RPG applications.

Krengel Authorize provides an RPG interface to Authorize.Net, which operates a credit card payment gateway that eliminates the need for customers to develop their own direct connections to the payment processing networks.

With Krengel Authorize, IBM i shops can run their customers’ credit card transactions directly from RPG application, from an e-commerce website, or from phone or catalog orders. Using Krengel Authorize and Authorize.Net, the entire authorization-to-settlement process can be completed in as little as three seconds, Krengel says.

Authorize.Net automates the entire payment process for the customer ranging from requesting authorization from the merchant’s bank, to receiving the results of a transaction from the customer’s credit card. The entire transaction is encrypted with 128 bit SSL technology.

Krengel developed its authorization software using the Advanced Integration Method (AIM) toolset offered by Authorize.Net. By using the AIM toolset, Krengel gives IBM i shops access to Authorize.Net features like address verification, card code verification, order itemization, and generation of e-mail receipts.

Several types of credit card transactions are supported by Krengel Authorize, including authorization and capture, authorization only, capture only, and refunds, among others. Krengel also provides example applications and RPG source code to help customers get started with their electronic payment processing.
