IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 19, Number 42
October 25, 2017 Doug Bidwell
As you can see from this week’s IBM i PTF Guide, the latest Technology Refreshes are available. That’s TR3 (MF99203) for V7R3 and TR7 (MF99107) for V7R2. (There is not a TR for V7R1). We strongly recommend that you read the cover letters for the above PTFs because there are significant behavior issues that have changed and they tell you all about them.
Included for your perusal this week, we have a new High Availability group for all three releases:
- V7R3 – SF99876
- V7R2 – SF99776
- V7R1 – SF99706
We also have an update to the HTTP server group (which is always fun!), and HIPERS for V7R3 and V7R2 (and security for V7R2). Lots of good stuff.
I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Power Technical University in New Orleans this past week. Not only did I pick up some good things to share with all of you, but also brought back the Wonderful New Orleans Flu to make my week more enjoyable.
One of the tidbytes (or BidBytes as some of my colleagues call them) to share with you is a new version of Access Client Solutions (ACS) is available this week. Watch the news for in-depth on it. They have focused on the toolset for SQL in the ACS this time around, and they’ve done some real productivity improvements all around. Check it out, you’ll like it. (See the link in the IBM i PTF Guide worksheet)!
There is also a new version of QMGTOOLS. More cool stuff! Best to stay current on these, never know when they will come in handy!
And finally, we have included an archive of the IBM i PTF Guide to help you work through the PTFs in chronological order, which you can see below:
