IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 19, Numbers 45 And 46
November 28, 2017 Doug Bidwell
There has not been much happening in the past several weeks in IBM i PTF Land, but here is a roundup of the little bit that that did happen.
In the IBM i PTF Guide Number 45, we have new groups for the HTTP Server and Open Source. If you haven’t checked out the open source licensed programs yet, you can find it at this link.
In Number 46 of the IBM i PTF Guide, there were Recommended Fixes for V7R3, V7R2, and V7R1. There were also patches for the Cryptographic Services/DCM and Cryptographic Co-processor for Power Systems, a fix that has to do with patching memory leaks and certificate support.
For V7R1 only, there is a fix for SMTP, which concerns a retry failing when mail router is not reachable.
The following snippets of the HIPERs for the week are just a bit scary, and it is probably best to apply the PTFs. Here they are:
- V7R3 – MF64336
- V7R2 – MF64338
- V7R1 – MF64337
One key fix is for code tweaks to improve head instability recovery and to fix for skip write issue affecting all IBM RAID storage adapters.
- V7R3 – MF64300: This one fixes SQL leak issues, where over time as queries are optimized, the leak may cause the internal limit to be reached and prevent any further SQL activity.
- V7R2 – MF64293: This one is for customer applied/installed MF licensed internal code PTFs and encountered a system failure on the B side.
- V7R2 – SI66117: The system may encounter failures after installing licensed internal code PTFs.
That’s all, folks!
As usual, we have included an archive of the IBM i PTF Guide to help you work through the PTFs in chronological order, which you can see below:
