• CYBRA Brings Supports for RFID Tag Printing to OS/400 Servers

  CYBRA is close to shipping a new release of its MarkMagic software that supports the generation of radio frequency identification (RFID) tags from AS/400 and iSeries servers. Large manufacturers and distributors are facing mandates from retailers and the government to begin including RFID tags along with barcode labels. • Patrick Townsend Brings 256-Bit AES Encryption to DB2/400 Data

  Patrick Townsend & Associates has added 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) technology to its Alliance FTP Manager product, for securing OS/400 data. The company says that the new encryption software will be a fine choice for securing sensitive data stored in DB2/400 databases, such as Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, and other personal information, and will assist with users’ compliance initiatives.   Tango/04 Computing Group launched new event log monitoring software last week that automates the slow and tedious error-prone task of manually sorting through logs. The programmable Applications Agent can monitor the log of practically any application, uses filters to weed out unimportant entries, and consolidates the log data into a graphical console.
