RJS to Provide Single Sign-On

Published: July 26, 2011

by Alex Woodie

RJS Software Systems plans to debut single sign-on (SSO) across its range of document management and information capture products, the company recently revealed. It also issued updates to its Web-based document management and its electronic form and report generator.

A June posting to the company's blog, RJS Informer, indicates the company is working on adding SSO to its range of solutions. The Burnsville, Minnesota, company has 34 products in its catalog, but focuses primarily on its newer document management offerings, such as WebDocs, iForms, WebForms, DeliverNow, iPrint, SignHere, inContact, DocumentAssembly, and Enterprise Workflow.

"RJS will soon add single sign-on to our software, thus allowing users of multiple RJS products the ability to log in once and operate seamlessly throughout the day," wrote RJS product marketing specialist Josh Williams. "This will improve the user experience when viewing documents, responding to workflow approvals or filling out Web forms."

Williams also shared information on recent enhancements RJS delivered with iForms version 1.2 and WebDocs version 1.3.9.

iForms version 1.2 gains network printing enhancements, better form design and API integration in Microsoft .NET environments, and better support for DB2, SQL Server, and MySQL databases. iForms, which RJS launched in 2007, is a Java application that generates electronic forms or reports from a variety of sources, including spool file output, DB2/400, and other databases. Forms and reports are designed with a Windows-based design tool, and output is generated in PDF, HTML, XML, Excel, and CSV formats.

Meanwhile, the update to RJS' flagship product, WebDocs, is now available. According to Williams' post, version 1.3.9 gets a performance upgrade, a refresh of the Windows GUI, better integration with the company's Enterprise Workflow product, customization enhancements, and new address books for storing personal and global addresses.

WebDocs functions as an "electronic filing cabinet" and can be used to capture, store, manage, and route all kinds of electronic documents, including IBM i spool files, invoices, work orders, faxes, reports, and even non-structured data like video and audio files.

The majority of RJS' products support the IBM i server, including iForms and WebDocs. For more information see the company's website at www.rjssoftware.com.
