  • Infor Expands Tools Partnership with Utilities 400

    December 7, 2010 Alex Woodie

IBM i ERP giant Infor has agreed to make available to its customers the IBM i utilities of Utilities 400 (UTI 400), the British developer announced last month. The deal puts a seal of approval on multiple UTI 400 utilities, including document management, reporting, and data integration products.

Just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday, UTI 400 announced a “special promotional offer” that will see Infor distributing one or more of UTI 400’s products. The companies, which both have offices in Chicago, had previously partnered with RouteOne, a data transfer tool that streamlines the distribution of IBM i files and data to Windows, Unix, or other IBM i servers.

The expanded partnership appears to put more UTI 400 products into the hands of Infor customers through standard Infor distribution channels. While UTI 400 didn’t name the individual products included under the partnership, they likely include: ShowMe, an IBM i reporting and business intelligence tool; ProFiler, an IBM i document management system; and DataArchiver; which improves IBM i server performance with its data archive and purge functions.

“We are delighted to be working more closely with Utilities 400 to bring the benefit of this toolset to the System i community,” says Paul Field, Infor’s System i general manager for the EMEA region. “I am confident that many more Infor System i ERP customers can and will benefit from the significant savings in time and money that existing users of this combined solution already enjoy.”

UTI technical director Steve Close says the expanded partnership represents a “wonderful step forward for the Infor System i community. Our suite of solutions marry perfectly with Infor’s IBM i-based solutions to enrich and enhance the user experience,” he says.
