IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 21, Number 15
April 15, 2019 Doug Bidwell
And the PTFs just keep on rolling. . . . This week, there are patches in the HTTP Server Group for IBM i 7.2 and IBM i 7.3. There is also a new Database Group for IBM i 7.2.
And, as is common with most production operating systems these days, especially those that have a lot of components derived from open source software where things get discovered and patched out in the open where everyone can see and with a rapidity that operating systems of days gone by did not have to deal with, there is a continual stream of security vulnerabilities that affect the IBM i stack. This week, there was a security bulletin released for vulnerability CVE-2019-3880, which relates to the Samba Windows Server block storage emulation system that is embedded in IBM i. The IBM i PTF numbers for the patches for this Samba vulnerability are:
- Release 7.2 – SI69591
- Release 7.3 – SI69592

New (well, updated) Links this week: System ECUREP – which is short for Enhanced Customer Data Repository
And now the weekly tip: WRKACTJOB, Prompt with F4, then F9, change the automatic refresh interval to 10 seconds.
The Guide at a glance: New defectives this week (4/13/19). Here is the defective PTF rundown, which is the last defective for each release:
