  • IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 23, Number 14

    April 12, 2021 Doug Bidwell

Apologies to all in the IBM i community for being late for putting together the IBM i PTF Guide last week. Sometimes real life interferes with business life, as you all know well. So this is a catch up issue of the Guide, with everything back on track with an update to get current coming out in this Wednesday’s issue of The Four Hundred.

Editor’s Note: It goes without saying that we all owe a big hearty thanks to Doug Bidwell for his tireless efforts over many decades in keeping track of the patches for the firmware, operating system, and system software for the OS/400 and IBM i platform. Super Doug, as he is known amongst many of his IBM i peers, is just that: A one-of-a-kind IBM i superhero.

Now, back to our previously scheduled IBM i PTF Guide. . . .

OCEAN Special Event: No fooling in April! Two excellent educational events you don’t want to miss.

Friday, April 16 at 8:30 a.m. PT – SQL expert and IBM champion Birgitta Hauser will lead an enlightening half-day workshop on Advanced Embedded SQL. Please use this link for details and registration.

Tuesday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m. PT – IBM’s lead RPG compiler developer Barbara Morris will review What’s New for RPG. Please see this link for details and registration.

OCEAN MEMBERS: If you missed Birgitta Hauser’s JSON and SQL workshop, you can now access the recording and the handout through April 18, 2021. You can do that at this link here.

Here is the rundown of PTF Groups by IBM i release level:

New (or Updated) Links for this week: Didn’t have time to do anything new. . . .

Tips/Definitions: We are turning a corner here with this pandemic, but we still need to be safe! Mask, distance, and wash your hands – can’t hurt, can only help. Thank You!
