Hubspan is augmenting its cloud-based B2B data exchange platform with an invoicing solution called SnapShot for Invoice. The solution, which is sold as an add-on to its core trading system, automatically renders PDF images of electronic invoices during the B2B integration process.

IBM Goes Dojo with HATS V8

IBM i developers got new tools for creating modern Web 2.0 style interfaces last week when IBM started shipping Rational Host Access Transformation Services (HATS) version 8. Chief among the cool new features is support for the Dojo Toolkit, which gives developers a collection of pre-cast widgets for rapidly building interactive websites. Other notable new features include JSR286 support, type-ahead capabilities, iPad support, and generation of RESTful Web services. IBM also launched Host Integration Solutions (HIS) version 8.

Flux Hooks Up with MFT Consultancy

Job scheduler developer Flux last week announced a partnership with File Transfer Consulting that will bring its customers a new resource for designing managed file transfer (MFT) systems.
Flux is a Java-based suite of workload automation and MFT tools that are used to streamline the flow of work and documents across servers, including the IBM i server. The software, which we wrote about last month, can initiate remote services over the Web via REST and SOAP interfaces, and uses a Web browser for all design and management tasks.

IBM Distributing WSDL2RPG via Integrated Web Services for i

IBM i shops getting involved in Web services and the use of Web services description language (WSDL) executables may be interested to know that earlier this year IBM announced the availability of WSDL2RPG, an open source product used to generate RPG stub code from a WSDL file, thereby simplifying the integration of WSDL-based Web services into the IBM i’s ILE environment.

Flux Delivers Automation for Changing Workloads

IBM i shops that are in the market for a combined job scheduler and managed file transfer (MFT) solution may want to check out Flux. The Las Vegas company’s Java-based workload automation and MFT tool, also called Flux, can orchestrate file movements and initiate processing on a wide range of platforms, including IBM‘s midrange servers. With the launch of Flux 7.11 last month, the tool gets a REST Web services API, better integration with Cognos, and enhancements to its Web browser-based UI.

nuBridges Unveils TaaS, a Hosted Data Tokenization Service

nuBridges last week unveiled a new hosted version of its software that uses tokenization to protect sensitive data. The new offering, which is called nuBridges Protect Tokenization as a Service (TaaS), is being delivered with nuBridges’ new business partner, Verizon Business. Customers who subscribe to the new service will get the benefit of tokenization for IBM i and other servers, but none of the burden of managing the tokenization environment.
