    This week, there is only one security vulnerability in the IBM i stack, but there are a slew of PTF updates for the currently supported releases of the IBM i operating system.

    So to start with, there is Security Bulletin: IBM Rational Developer for i is vulnerable to leaked credentials due to a flaw in follow-redirects (CVE-2024-28849), which you can find out more about at this link. The issue affects IBM Rational Developer for i 9.8.0.0 through 9.8.0.1, and the issue can be fixed by installing fixpack 9.8.0.2.

  • IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 25, Number 32

    Here is what is new: A new “version” of Access Client Solutions (ACS) is available for download, catch the link in the Guide. (Your “Check for Update” won’t catch it, and you won’t see the version until you get all the way into the ACS Main window, and do the Help/About.) This is an updated version, no change to the ODBC driver. This version of ACS uses the IBM GSKit version 8.0.55.31 with the latest security updates.

  • IBM i PTF Guide, Volume 25, Number 23

    It’s a little more quiet in this issue of the IBM i PTF Guide than it was last time, which is a good thing and which ran on Monday. We will start off with two more security vulnerabilities, one with Rational Developer for i and the other for the WebSphere Application Server Liberty edition.

  • Update On Migration Of developerWorks Content

    On New Year’s Day, IBM fulfilled its promise to turn off the developerWorks Connections website, which hosted technical content posted by members of the IBM i community. But before it hit the “delete” button, Big Blue worked with content owners to migrate the most active content to other websites, to redirect browser traffic, and to archive the rest.
